SILLY SATURDAY - TIPTOEING THROUGH THE TULIPS
Good morning Lovely Blippers,
We are sending this all the way from North Yorkshire and hope you are all well. You will have seen that Mrs. HCB is having a great time with her friend, Sue, and they have been having lots of adventures.
As soon as we arrived, we saw that Sue had some beautiful tulips in her garden, so we thought that we could have a photograph taken today with some of them in the background - they certainly grow large ones up here and don’t you think they are lovely?
We also found Bill and Ben - and those of a certain age will remember these from Children’s Television many years ago - however, we couldn’t see Little Weed anywhere!
We have lots of work to do today because Mrs. HCB is going to tidy up the front of Sue’s garden where there is a long wall and there are lots of dandelions growing in the cracks, so we shall be making sure she does a good job - and of course, we will be helping her. Then I think we will all be having a rest, because to do too much would be very silly.
We were very pleased to receive a postcard, which you can see in Extras, from the rest of the Silly Saturday Gang, who have been left at home with Mr. HCB, but of course, he has been going to cricket since Wednesday, and I think they are feeling lonely. You can see they want us to go home soon, so we are going back on Tuesday, after the Bank Holiday.
You may be wondering how Mrs. HCB chose who to bring so I will tell you. Of course, I was the first choice, because I am the biggest and look after everyone else; next we thought it was going to be rather cold, so Penny Penguin and Snowy were the obvious choices for cold weather. Reeth, if you remember, was bought last October by Mrs. HCB in the village of Reeth and really wanted to come back to his roots. Titch loves Swindon, as you can see by the words on his tee shirt, but wanted to “broaden his horizons” so a visit “oop North” seemed the way to do it. As for Hoggy, one of Mrs. HCB’s Blip friends, HollyYoung, respectfully suggested that he should come too, as he had missed out on so much over the winter and I must say, I did agree with her. It was a bit like a game of Sardines with us all stuffed in Mrs. HCB’s rucksack, but it was great fun coming on a train and we enjoyed being together.
So here we all are - thinking fondly of Admirer, as we always do on a Silly Saturday - and although we have had a great time here, we will be glad to get home to see our friends.
Take care - have a good Bank Holiday weekend - and of course, stay safe.
Love from JH Ted, Penny Penguin, Snowy, Reeth, Titch and Hoggy - and of course, Bill and Ben, the Flowerpot Men xxx
