Camellia

Walking round the Ventnor Botanical Gardens this afternoon it was obvious that, even in this the warmest and most sheltered part of the island, Spring is at least three weeks later than usual.

Most plants are only just coming into bud with some Magnolia blossom beginning to show.Several Camellia's of different colours are flowering including this rather nice white variety. Many of the flowers are showing signs of wind damage, however settled warm sunshine is promised for the weekend so there is hope that the delayed Spring will at last arrive.
