Black Stemmed Bamboo

Getting untidy in the garden with lots of clearing and planting of pots to be done. This Black Stemmed Bamboo needs pruning. It is not a very invasive variety but does grow quite tall. You prune at the base which involves lying on your stomach on the gravel and hoping you won't come across the gigantic Wolf Spiders that live in the garden and the bath. The pruned stems dried out make attractive garden canes. Native to Southern China it grows well in our garden (must be a similar climate).
