Woodpeckers

Vacation catch up blip #3

As I mentioned yesterday, I usually start the day when I'm staying in the mountains with the goal of capturing a certain bird.  This morning was woodpecker day.  On the left is an Acorn woodpecker and on the right is an Arizona woodpecker. The Acorn lives year-round in Mexico, and the mountainous regions of southern Arizona and part of California. The Arizona woodpecker is really interesting and even more rare than today's buddy.

The high winds finally died down and with the sun returning gave us a warm spring day.  It was the first night I was allowed to make a charcoal fire on my porch.
