Mainly work, with some breaks to check on the sick animals. And in the evening a stroll around the garden to evaluate weekend jobs. This purple flowered plant has grown from a few straggly cuttings a few years ago, into this. It should really be cut back as it’s encroaching about a metre onto the terrace, but I don’t have the heart to do that when it’s in flower.

Young hen popped over in case I was digging for worms. Old hen is alive, but just doing everything very slowly. But then by the end of the day, so was I!

CarbBoy cooked tonight: Farfalle aux petits pois et lardons. Classy meal. Magnum double caramel for pudding.
