Beeyond rescue.

I noticed this very large bee looking like it was trying to swim (escape the pond weed) in our garden. I carefully rescued it and left it on a rock to dry out and clear away the weed. It seemed to be doing fine, so I left it for five minutes, only to find it back in the pond and unmoving. 
Bees should have swimming lessons, it seems.
