Transience

There can be few things more transient than dandelions. They spring up, apparently from nowhere, their cheerful yellow heads a brief harvest for our pollinators. Then, secretly, behind a cloak of green, there is a magical transformation as yellow turns to white in a quiet explosion of the softest parachutes. All too briefly they cling together, before taking flight on air to land and start again.

My dandelion seed head is caught in time, misted with moisture and shining in the sun. Here all too briefly, soon to disappear. Transient.
