Delftware…

Today is King’s Day or Orange Day in Holland and a public holiday to celebrate King Willem-Alexander’s birthday. So it was quite difficult to navigate the streets which were full of stalls- one massive secondhand market. My extra. Very happy people though and bands and live music everywhere.

The Delft pottery factory was much quieter, the tour interesting. This master painter has been painting delftware for 44 years. The shop was beautiful but oh so expensive, as such pieces of art should be.

We celebrated Orange Day on the beach by a fire pit with a coffee and cake… quietly.
