Ely

Spent the day with an old canoeing friend of J’s and his wife. I learned that the name Ely came from Eels, and that Ely has an Eel trail.
We walked the labyrinth then visited the excellent Stained Glass Museum in the Cathedral  - the blip Bust of a King is French and dates back to 1220. 
After a lovely lunch at The Almondry in what was the cathedral priory we visited Cromwell house, Cromwell’s family home before more tea and cake
