A notable blip because it’s the first time we’ve been out for coffee and cake since the start of the pandemic.

Last year when we weren’t in lockdowns we were inundated with tourists. Wanting to avoid the crowds and the chance of contracting covid we stayed away from cafes and other busy places.

This week is less busy and it was warm enough to sit outside in the afternoon sun so we had a drive to Grasmere garden centre (which I think does the best coffee and scone in the area).
