Fish for tea

This morning I went to my belly dancing class then this afternoon went to the castle for a blip.

The two coots pairs have hatched their chicks.  These were fortunate little ones as while I was there the parent brought in five little fish. They're agressive to other birds but are brilliant parents.

I also saw a moorhen with a chick and a blackbird finding an enormous slug in the grass.  

The swans appear to have abandoned their nest and two eggs.  They have been sitting on them on an occasional basis but they have been away from the nest for a few days now. It could be due to disturbance or for some other reason.
