Morning light

Woke early this morning and peeked out of the window to see this lovely sky! We were going on a guided walk but needed milk for breakfast so went to the village shop but was too early, so had a little walk around the village!

We were taken to Force Crag Mine which is a short walk from the village, three miles there, three miles back and a place owned by the National Trust. They have made it secure but only open it 5 days a year so it is a question of looking at the outside! See extras!

Currently they are running a scheme to purify the water that goes into the stream as before it was the dirtiest water in the country having zinc and cadmium in it! They use ponds which reclaim the minerals and metals! I have no idea how it works but plants and compost are a part of it!

Helen took me out to dinner this evening before we played scrabble and cleared ready to leave tomorrow. We have had a stellar week with good weather and fun!
