Sherpa-rama
This is the man who cooked us lunch today. He was just lovely. He is a Sherpa. That doesn't mean he carries things on his back up mountains, it is his ethnicity. Something I wasn't aware of before coming to Nepal! He was a breath of fresh air after a morning of unrewarding encounters with the locals.
We did lots of walking today, lots of it up and quite a bit of down as well. But mostly up. The power that had vacated my legs yesterday showed no signs of making an appearance so I was left to step up the mountains at a snail's pace. After lunch we had one last push over a peak to get to the guest houses on the other side. The one we chose was very nice. Very simple but homely and we were looked after by more Sherpas.
I like Sherpas.
