Paisley City Roller Mills

Today was a long, long day spent at the hospital since my stepdad was getting both knees replaced. Everything went well with the surgery, but between getting up at 5am to drive an hour to the hospital in the dark and the rain and waiting around in the terrible fluorescent lighting I was exhausted by the afternoon! After my mom and I made sure he was well and had everything he needed we drove home and it had turned into a beautiful day while we were inside, so we detoured through Paisley, a charming little town on the river. The first mill here was built in 1854, but burnt down in in the 1880's and this one was its replacement. It was a functional flour mill until 1972, but was shut down and abandoned for the next 30 years. That's how I always remembered it and it looked very cool when it was all worn down, but it's now been restored and is a nice antique shop.
