Final resting place
Today would have been dad’s 80th birthday and we had arranged to go to Blackburn Rovers ground to scatter his ashes. Mum got the train up to Preston and we dropped the dogs off at day care and headed down to meet her. She had a good trip up and I found her in the station no bother. Headed over to the Grey Mare pub, not far from the ground and had a nice lunch while we waited for the time to meet the Chaplin who does the services for the club. Colin, who was dad’s cousin, met us at the ground and we scattered / buried dad ashes in the memorial garden at the ground. He always wanted to have the scattered in the goalmouth but this was a close as we could get. Had a cup off coffee with Colin before heading back home with mum. RD and FM came in to feed the dogs with no issues and we got back around 9pm. Long, emotional day so watched the qualifying for the GP and went to bed.
