What the L?

I wish I could computer better than I can...fortunately Mr K can computer wayyyyy better than me, but I always feel bad asking him to fix my problems...
One of my backups for my photos is an L drive somewhere in the cellar and ever since the power had to be turned off last week for the new meter the L has been sulking...it's not talking to me again and even yesterday, when it was, it would only let me fill it not look at what was already there...
