Navigating to Nazaré
A day on the road, from Alcochete to Vila Nova de Gaia, with a stop for lunch at Nazaré, famous for it's huge waves for surfers - not the beach in the photo, but on the other side of the cliffs we were on, which we'd climbed via the ancient funicular railway.
Extra of Zion and Allegra with a rather strange surfer.
Gratefuls:
- getting safely here to our friends' flat (thanks, Mike), and them getting safely to our house; both them and us dealing with our respective cats; theirs sleeps on their bed; ours do not!
- perfect weather, sunny but not too hot
- hearing Paul practice his sermon on FT, and then reading the passage, Genesis 1- 2v4 round the table at breakfast, especially this bit after yesterday:
God spoke: “Swarm, Ocean, with fish and all sea life!
Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!”
God created the huge whales,
all the swarm of life in the waters...
Not that we saw any whales yesterday!
As of Friday, mask wearing is no longer compulsory in Portugal, except for where vulnerable people are, as in nursing homes, and in public transport (so we needed them for the funicular).
