ISS Back Again
First the skies have been clear enough of cloud to capture one of the regular International Space Station passes tonight. Clear skies, blowing a gale and absolutely freezing.
Had stopped off at another location first to set up for his, but there were some yoofs lurking near their pimped up jalopy looking suspicious so I retreated. Mind you, seeing some odd-job lurking around a dark car park with a camera and tripod, they were probably thinking the same.
After seeing Commander Chris Hadfield's photos taken as he flew over Scotland a few weeks back, it seems only fitting to return the favour and grab a picture of him in his shiny spaceship.
Shot here is a stack of eight twenty second exposures. Not sure what the bright section is as it flies over Orion's belt, but it lines up almost directly as it passed under the moon so may have something to do with that. Thanks to my big bruv who pointed out that this bright line is an Iridium/Satellite flare that happens when some structure on the vehicle reflects the sun directly at the viewing position.
