40 Acre Rock Preserve
Hiked today with the ladies hiking group (who are so much fun!) at the 40 Acre Rock Preserve. The preserve is way more than 40 acres and the rock itself is a 14 acre shelf that slopes gently downhill. There are some really big boulders here.
We passed some small waterfalls and a cave but most of the hike was along the creek.
The view of the pond was while we were standing on a large flat boulder on the side of the hill.
This place has such and diverse ecosystem and is under the protection of our Department of Natural Resources. Graffiti on the rock is minor but at one time I know it was very covered.
Lots of up and down hills so with the higher temperature today I am zapped. I am really going to miss the cool weather as we move into the heat and humidity of summer.
