Laurie House

L and I went to the Book Cafe and then had a look at Laurie House before it is demolished.

I used to work there in the 2000s, a cold, damp rundown building. One of my colleagues used to put tape around the windows in winter to stop the draughts.

NHS offices with a (separate) nightclub on the ground floor, the weekly sound check on a Thursday afternoon, you could hear the thud of the base throughout the building.
