Who's teaching who?
Sheffield hosts the World Snooker Championship every spring (at least, pandemics permitting). During the championship there's a table set up for the general public in the Winter Gardens, near the Crucible Theatre (where the matches are played). The general public in question is usually male, but today there was a woman playing - I don't think I've seen that before. Initially it looked as though she was either seeking some advice, or perhaps politely enduring a few minutes of 'mansplaining'. Either way, she turned out to be pretty good herself and soon there were appreciative 'ahhs' from the assembled watchers.
I was passing on my way into the nearby Millenium Galleries shop, looking for a birthday present for Marianna. It's probably a good thing that I only had the phone with me, and no camera... otherwise it would have been hard to resist settling into a long session. Watching both the players and the audience (extra) was engrossing. I hope to get back there tomorrow, with the camera.
