Anston Stones Wood

Had a lovely walk through these woods on my own today. Again, as in Springs Wood earlier in the week, the wild flowers are not yet at their best. In a couple of weeks, it will be carpeted with wild garlic. At the moment the wood anemones, celandine and blue bells are out.
The only downside to the walk in the noise from the A57 heading to Worksop and Lincolnshire. A lot of the top manufacturing companies have logistic depots in this area so there is a constant line of lorries heading to and from the M1.
Hoped I might have heard my first cuckoo of the year but maybe I’m a few weeks too early for that as well.
