Stunner! I absolutely LOVE it, despite the quarter tonne of blossom it drops every May.

My neighbour over the other side isn’t fond of it, but he tolerates it.

He’s building a garden suite for folk that need a home. The authorities came by to inspect his plan, prior to issuing a building permit …

Authority (knodding that way over his shoulder): “That’s a Pacific Dogwood”
Neighbour: “I know”
Authority: “It’s protected”
Neighbour: “I know”
Authority: “Don’t be laying concrete within six feet of it”
Neighbour: “Okay”
