This morning, before the craziness began, I had a little bit of quiet time on the deck with Jax watching the comings and goings in the garden. One of the most lovely sights was Missus Bluebird bringing nesting materials into the garden nest box. The light wasn't ideal but I think she actually looks good with a touch of rim lighting.
By 10:30 I was at the imaging center waiting to get my first annual, post-cancer mammogram and ultrasound. Of course, no results will be available until next week...but at least this step is done. I was surprisingly anxious and tense - well, maybe not all that surprising considering what happened after last year's routine mammogram.
Returned home in time to start drinking the "mochaccino" flavored barium solution for my after noon abdominal CT scan. The solution actually wasn't awful although it certainly didn't taste like something you'd want to have on hand for a party. But at least it wasn't like the horrible colonoscopy prep that you can barely manage to gag down. The solution had to be consumed at specific times and amounts with the final dose taken at the hospital's radiology department. The scan itself took under 10 minutes, even with contrast dye administered. And, again, no results until next week. I don't expect they will find anything, but it will be nice to be told there's nothing growing in there!
Took Jax for a walk in the morning and he behaved amazingly well. A far cry from his shenanigans at class last night! He is just so unruly when there are other dogs around - all he wants to do is play. Hubs and I were both exhausted by the end of class.
We are heading into a beautiful springlike weekend so I hope to spend a lot of time outside. Maybe a trip to the garden center to pick up some herbs.
Thanks for the love on the Eagle yesterday. It was such a wonderful experience being able to see a happy ending to what could have been such a sad story.
I'm thinking dark with dried cranberries today...
