I've always been intrigued by what makes machines work.
Philosophically, I know that, in the evolution of a machine, such as a camera, a time comes when a mere artisan cannot mend a broken one.
I have managed to get hold of a batch of old 35mm slr bodies, and I intend to take them apart to see what actually does what. I don't intend them to go back together and work! They are all from the 1970's and 80's and I can see that they are already past simple fixes. The metering, the multiple linkages are all too complex. However, they cost next to nothing and It is fun.
This is a budget SLR from the 70's, front and bottom plates are thin plastic and the top plate was severely damaged.
