Ma Roond in Hoy
Across in Hoy for the first ever public showing of the film 'Hoy' which was made fifty years ago. It has been unearthed from the archive of City of London University.
It's the first event in the Hoy Kirk Heritage Centre for two years. Such events are usually very well supported by folk from the Mainland but sadly there's no boat on because of an oil leak. However things have now been rescued by our Chairwoman who phoned Orkney Ferries to charter two further vessels for the crossings. I picked up the Projectionist from the pier.
Marty Baby (M Scorsese to the riff raff) couldn't make it, or D W Griffith, but there was a panoply of starlets and coach loads of rubber neckers from Wyoming, Kirkwall and Grangemouth). Close brackets.
This is a 'lapsed' Scallywag. I've topped it up with: 3 Highland Park minatures (8/9/18) / Kenmore 5yr / Edradour 10yr / Tomintoul unaged / 2 nips Benromach 10 added on 5/12/18. / Lagavulin 16 23/12/19 Hazelburn 10yr 46% / Benromach 10 43% / 12yr Benriach added on 18/7/21/ Tullibardine 500 on 29/7/21 / Green Spot on 3/10/21. Tasted today; needs more 'maritime' and smoke. CMC uses it for polishing the silver.
