St Michael's Church, Cockerham
St Michael's Parish Church is commonly known as the 'Church in the field'. It was moved from its original position in the village and located on higher ground on the outskirts due to frequent flooding. According to the history books the Church dates back to 1400, but the present building has been rebuilt and altered in the years that followed. A communal grave can be found in the Church Yard dating back to a plague which raged through the village in 1650 when 64 lives were lost.
