19 years ago on this day my husband asked me to 'be his bird' and the romance has barely stopped since.

I suppose from such ridiculous beginning things can only go up.

In all seriousness we have had a great 19 years. Yes there have been bumps and troubles but overall we have been lucky and with three lovely children we do try hard to count our blessings as often as we remember.

To celebrate I took his father to Sandwell Park Farm for lunch. See I told you the romance never ends but I actually think that this rather chilled approach is part of the secret to our success so far.
