Another funeral

Another Brian.  There was a family cremation this morning for Brian, then the family were joined by many friends for a Memorial Service in our local church where many tributes were read,  lovely hymns sung, appropriate prayers said and many memories shared.

Afterwards a wonderful gathering of many dear friends was held in a hotel where Mr HB and I were married nearly 20 years ago, and as I said it a friend who was standing behind me said it was 60 years ago when she and her husband Frank were married there.
When we left, the stunning arrangement of flowers which would have been on Brian’s coffin consisting of orange Roses, Gerberas, Freesias and Alstroemerias,  were in the foyer of the hotel.  There was a note on them saying that we could take a flower of our choice home.

I chose an orange Rose and it was a ‘happy accident’ that, with the help of a photoshop filter, I transformed it into an AbstractThursday entry.  Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.

The real colour of the Rose, orange,  perfectly reflects Brian's sunny personality.  RIP dear old friend x
