Five Rise Locks.
Five Rise Locks has got to be one of the most spectacular features on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The staircase of locks is incredibly steep and I can only imagine how complicated it must be to negotiate them in a canal boat.
There are lovely views of the Aire Valley from the top too.
I have enjoyed a spot of gardening this morning and relished the opportunity to fill my whirligig with washing, which is now dry and put away. I love the smell of washing dried outside!
This afternoon I walked under blue skies and sunshine from Saltaire to Five Rise Locks where I turned round to retrace my steps so I could enjoy a look in Salts Mill. The book shop is just gorgeous.
