The first narcissus of the year.
The usual busy day, 4 more cleanups done. Met with a new client this afternoon. I started working for her daughter last year. They want some shrubs planted in front of their deck. Word of mouth advertising is the best thing. Then my manager for the merchandising job called me and she wants her back lawn replaced. It's not something I normally do, but since I know her, I will. I have access to a young crew of university students that could do it for me.
A funny incident this afternoon. We were leaving a client's yard, and I was carrying part of a bag of grass seed. We were at the end of the driveway and I must have been rattling the plastic bag. A guy was walking his dog, the dog heard the plastic rattling and had to stop to see if I had any treats for him. He sit down in front of me and kept trying to sniff the bag, a very well behaved dog. The owner asked me if I wanted to give him a treat, I said yes, so he handed me one and the dog was quite happy to take it from my hand, very gently, I might add.
