Buttons and controllers

I'm a serious gamer, fortunately I don't have that much time anymore to spend on games as before. Professionally I wouldn't be where I am without playing games as I have done. Anyway when people ask me (they often do) what gamer console I'd recommend, I always answer that the XBox 360 is best for me, but I don't deny that other people may prefer PS3 or even Wii that should not be compared to these two. Nintendo Wii is totally different gaming platform, but also very fun.

Anyway the two main reasons why I prefer XBox 360 over PS3 are the controllers and the achievements (gamertag, which is now day poorly copied also to PS3 system). XBox controller fits my hands perfectly and standard PS3 controller is made for children. I've been wondering why these huge companies don't even consider making different sized controllers (S, M and L). Do they really think that all the gamers are same size, they know already that the gamers are not same age.

I have quite big hands and the tiny PS3 controller just doesn't fit to those. Finally I found somehow similar controller to PS3 as the XBox 360 controller is. It's the one in the center, it's cheap and the built quality is poor compared to the original. But the ergonomics is way better than the original PS3 controller. Every gamer knows that the PS3 controller sucks, there are several third-party companies that make extra trigger grips for those that you can put on top of those original slippery ones. So why doesn't Sony do anything about it?

In the end I just want to say that it is really important to make good human-machine interfaces for any media device. I will surely continue about this subject later.
