Walked along the Battery rocks by the Jubilee Pool at 11am to watch the Bathing Belles and Bo(u)ys take to the water. I asked how long people stay in, the local rule is one minute per water temperature ie 12 degrees = 12 mins. The colourful women in the extra were enjoying a post- swim coffee and chat. The Dryrobe coats are all the rage with the open water swimmers, rrp £160.
At lunchtime we took A’s 95 year old Mum out for a drive. We purchased Cornish Pasties from Lavender Bakery at Long Rock and ate them at Marazion admiring the view of The Mount from the car. We took a drive along the North coast, and stopped at Sennen where the light and white sand were fabulously bright. Lots of families enjoying their holidays.
We ended our trip out with ice creams from Jelbert’s in Newlyn, only one scoop with clotted cream and a flake. Lovely.
