Wheatear
Cycling around Deerness, west mainland Orkney, under blue skies, in the sunshine, with skylarks singing away is very pleasant. Spring migrants found included sand martins, sandwich terns, willow warbler and a couple of wheatear. The male, pictured, is especially striking. The extra of a willow warbler was taken on the way out of Kirkwall in a little, new park which is already attracting wildlife.
