House Sparrow

The snow from yesterday’s storm has completely melted. Today was a cold and blustery day. This poor female House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) was being buffeted by the wind while trying to get some seeds. She had a hard time holding on to the bird feeder.

My nephew’s high school robotics team won the Michigan State Championship robotics competition, and they were invited to compete in the National Championship in Houston, Texas. We took him to the airport this afternoon, where he joined his fellow teammates for the flight to Texas. They will spend the rest of this week there competing with about 300 other teams.
