Had a good day having lunch with my folks and sisters. It was good family time catching up.

I made a point of watching Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story before chatting and glad I did. West Side Story is my favourite musical and Steven Spielberg did a superb job. It felt fresh but still West Side Story. The feel, the cinematography, the lighting, acting and music were sublime. It felt like watching a stage show but also a movie. It was easy to get swept away. Spectacular from start to finish.

My family and I chatted about it for ages. It was so nice. We used to watch the original many times and I used to play Maria on the piano. So many memories yet still so fresh.
