Jude meets Hockney!
I think I bought this dress for Jude’s birthday last September intending it for this summer. We visited the Hockney exhibition at Cartwright Hall in Lister Park, Bradford, whilst there we saw an article about Hockney’s art inspiring the fabric for this little dress. When we got home Grace looked up the maker and found the dress was still for sale and reduced. A no brainer, I think it really suits her.
This morning we went to Bristol as Grace’s car needs a bump removing. It happened last October and has taken this long for the garage to fit in the repair. We got a courtesy car - a Fiat 500! A big change from a Golf estate especially when you have to get two children and their car seats in! We managed it (or rather Grace did) but there was no way we could get the buggy in so we came back home and left it in the Golf!
Back in Bailbrook we called into Post Box Cottage at the bottom of the garden. Jude loves the railings for some reason - extra.
In the blip she is bringing me a ‘fower‘ one of her words at the moment. It’s a very tiny petal of a Grape Hyacynth!
The cottage belongs to Grace’s neighbour. The lady who lived there used to live in half of Grace’s house and her daughter, who now lives next door, was born there. Sadly she died earlier in the year but they offered the use of its kitchen to Grace and John to wash up, use the dishwasher and washing machine whilst there building work and kitchen replacement is going on.
That’s the sort of neighbours and community this is. They plan to make it into an Airbnb. It’s only two bedrooms but I rather fancy it! ( But Im sure I wouldn’t be able to afford it!)
We’re having a chilled afternoon as Grace has a show tonight. John is back at work but hasn’t been very well today though he is supposed to be going to watch tonight.
Couldn’t resist the extra in the extra, a shot of Jude in the garden last night looking very gypsy! She’s quite a character!
Forgot to say the day started with excellent news, Eda has got a place in her first choice school! The email came this morning. Really pleased. It’s hard to get in as it is a very small intake (12?) C of E school and is in much demand. It’s the one they were most impressed with on their visits last year. As Eda has got a place Jude should too.
