Lilacs in Snow
Or I should say, under the snow. On 2nd Feb. I blipped these 10 foot tall bushes in the snow. Now two and a half months later here they are again but totally weighed down by 8 inches of heavy snow. That explains to me why the buds still have not opened. Nature knows best. That must be why the daffodils have not opened either.
Of course, that's it for the blooming crocus colonies for this year.
FYI:
This is a peculiar and very particular snow storm today and tomorrow. It came up the east coast of the US and dumped itself right here in the Southern Tier of New York... no where else. Aren't we lucky!!
The Southern Tier is a collection of counties in a long valley carved by the ice age long ago.
