The Naval Service Memorial
We visited the National Memorial Arboretum with friends today, quite a revelation as it has changed so much since any of us had last visited.
While we were walking around late in the day we came across the Naval Service Memorial, a series of glass plates set into a plinth. We'd been told by one of the volunteers that the shadows thrown by these plates create the outline of a naval destroyer in the right conditions. It didn't happen for us but it was still interesting to stand and watch how the different coloured plates interacted with each other.
