Poor baby fox

A very funny thing happened this morning. We were travelling along the main road in our town and the car in front stopped and put the hazard lights on. We swerved to overtake and the lady driver slowed us down and pointed out  of her window.  In the middle of the road stood this tiny little fox which was making very loud barking sounds.  We drove on and parked and then walked back and by this time the lady in the car had driven off but had put the fox in the hedgerow.  However this little fox was very determined to get back into the middle of the dangerous road and was setting back off on his perilous journey.  My husband stopped him and picked him up and deposited back in the hedge.  This happened again and all the time the fox was making these very sad barking sounds.  Not sure what we could do next we were saved by a lady who happened to be a member of the local veterinary college and she put the fox into her shopping bag to take to the wildlife rescue.  A happy ending to this little story.
