Saturday: Almonte

We used the fact that we have a car to do a big shop at Walmart this morning.  We’ve calculated what we need for our time here in terms of bulk items and think we’re pretty much sorted.

This afternoon we took a drive out to Almonte, about 40 minutes outside of Ottawa.  It’s a lovely little mill town and almost made us think we were somewhere like Ulverston, Hebden Bridge etc.  It definitely feels very English market town.

I’ve been feeling the onset of a sore throat and sniffles, alongside a general lethargy.  We’re currently cat sitting for my former boss and I picked up a key from him a couple of nights ago.  He texted me today to say he’s tested positive for Covid so watch this space (fingers crossed it’s not that, as it would be bout no 2…..)….
