Journey Through Time

Baby Canada Goose

We did a late afternoon trip to Ridgefield today...arriving about 5:30 and you do get to see different things at that time of night. The light was pretty good and the clouds were fantastic today. I am flunking Wildlife Photography 101, as we did get to see some great things, like a coyote, but I sure have a heck of a time getting any kind of decent photos. This one, cropped of course, was the best of the baby geese. If you visit my Flicker page you can see a few photos from our trip on there. There were several goldfinches eating seeds from the teazle, but the birds were deep in the teazle and the wind was blowing the weeds around...and I took quite a few shots, but none of them were very good. The best was actually a red-winged blackbird, but I wanted to put up something different...like this baby. Oh and we had a great show put on for us by an adult eagle flying around and two immature eagles flying together, dive bombing the coots and sort of chasing each other around in the air. It was like trying to photograph ...well, eagles flying around. It was really pretty out there tonight, with large ominous clouds to the south. As we returned home we hit the rain showers. We had recorded Brian Williams on the evening news, so we got caught up on the tragedy in Boston. Very sad. And I am posting this later than usual, but at least it's getting posted.

Take care everyone.
