Preliminary Sadness before Much Joy

Up early to pack our food and other last minute tasks. I snapped this photo of my bleeding hearts before we left. We pulled out of the driveway at 9:30. The traffic has been moderate. We’ve stopped twice for comfort breaks/gas and to have lunch at a wonderful diner. The diner’s cashier presented my mother with a complimentary cherry Danish pastry as we left, “just because.” The weather and drive have been pleasant; we drove through a few rain showers. We are just short of two hours from my sister’s farm. Our mother is so happy for this vacation. Said she is leaving all her stress in Maryland. Wishing each of you a blessed Easter and hearts filled with joy. Thanks for dropping by. No war news today…. “Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts.” - Charles Dickens
