Grand Montet, Chamonix valley

This was one of the cable cars in the Grand Montet ski area where we skied with friends today. I’ve never seen a white cable car before but they looked great against the blue sky. The extra shows the high point where some skiers start a steep descent through a gully when the conditions are good. Not enough snow today though.

The ski piste was great and we saw what looked like close to over 60 skiers heading off in a line to do the Haute Route, and there were probably many more than that. It’s the first time we’ve skied on this area for over 23 years and I’d forgotten how lovely it is.

Our friends are in a hotel in Vallorcine this evening and we’re staying in the campervan nearby. Meeting up for dinner soon in a local restaurant.
