Twinkle Toes

April 15th is known for tax deadline day, Patriots Day and the day the Boston Marathon is held. Taxes are complete is this household and once again I feel depressed to work so hard doing what I believe is meaningful work only to have to she'll out oodles of money each year after already making so little. The marathon is a day of inspiration and celebration and usually offsets the dysphoria of tax season. Today however was a different story altogether. More depressing and utterly senseless happenings. However, April 15th holds a personal special meaning for me each year. It is the date on the calendar I declare "no sock day" which travels straight through October 15th. It is painful for a month on either end but psychologically extends my summer which is very uplifting to my mood. So despite the terribleness if this day otherwise, I celebrated the coming of a new season with a polka dot pedicure and flip flops. It's the little things that keep me going sometimes.
