Solace Day 1 - Tixall

Our holiday got off to a slow start, we were up in good time and on the road but an overnight accident on the M6 caused us to have a delay of 2 hours in our detour between several junctions.

It was about 3.30 pm when we got on the boat at Great Haywood and later by the time we set off. We turned off the Trent and Mersey and onto the Staffs & Works canal.

This is where we moored, for the night, just beyond the busy Tixall Wide. We usually avoid being near other boats but, it's the Easter holidays and things will be busy on the cut.
