The Avocet story 2022

Part 2.
A couple of weeks ago I posted this year’s first Avocet Blip. Catching its breakfast.
Moving on. They have built nests of twigs on their favourite shallow sandy island. Here is one sitting on a nest.I was not able to stay long enough to discover whether it was sitting on eggs although the Reserve Warden tells me that some of the are. Last year I was lucky enough to get a shot of the eggs being turned over.
