Monterey Pines

These scrappy trees grow fast and tall but do not live as long as redwoods. If they're lucky they can make it 40 years before the bark beetle gets them. They are messy and drop branches, but I love them. 

Their branches work really well for weavings, and their pine cones are awesome. See extra photos for example of a weaving and one of the pine cones.
