Two new lakes

Lake Orta is tiny, the farthest west, and truly charming. Our journey was slower because of holiday traffic and roadworks, but was still super and our destination well worth it.

My photo is of the little island, complete with a monastery, which is opposite the main square of the prettiest little town, Orta San Guilio. 

Later we went to Lake Maggiore, to visit Isola Bella. Holiday crowds were really hard work and I’m less keen on Stresa (reminded me of an overcrowded Eastbourne)

Sadly, the adventure is nearly at an end - home tomorrow.
