Climbing the Castle

Eventually decided to walk into Mourão today, via the castle, and minus Sam, who still tested positive and not feeling great after a broken night. Mike and I realised we'd not actually been inside the walls in years probably. Fun exploring it with the kids. Ended with our usual toasted sandwiches at Morango Bar.

Lent verses on this Maundy Thursday were John's version of Jesus' last meal with his disciples, 13v1-15, where he takes the role of the lowliest servant and washes their feet:
Having loved his dear companions, he continued to love them right to the end.

As we couldn't go to the foot washing service in the church, we read this passage aloud and ate bread (hot cross bun) and drank wine (or juice) to remember Jesus, before we ate the pizzas Mike and Sam had made while Deb and I went grocery shopping in Reguengos.

Gratefuls:
- Zion running around and getting better, good to see
- hot weather for the kids to play out in, and to charge our batteries
- the example Jesus set us of humble service, but from a place of secure identity (see v3 above)
